Be a part of Franklin Civic Operetta Association’s production of the new Broadway musical, Big Fish!   Auditions Sunday, April 22 from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, April 23 from from 6:00-8:00pm   Callbacks Tuesday, April 24 starting at 6:30pm (if necessary)   Performances June 15, 16, 22, 23 at 7:30pm June 17, 24 at 2:00pm   Character age ranges include young adults, older adults, and one boy (age 8-12). All other character roles and ensemble roles are 14 years or older. Possible double casting. See the Audition Packet below for complete character descriptions. Please prepare 32 bars of music if auditioning for a singing role. As a reference, choose a song which helps highlight the specific role you may be auditioning for. After a successful debut last November, Off-Barrow’s Red Eye returns! Want to try something new without a big commitment? This production is cast, written, directed, rehearsed, and performed in just 24 hours, making for a unique, fun-filled, weekend experience! Anyone can participate – no limits, no experience required! How it works: After auditions and casting on Friday, writers will work through the night to create an original, s script. Directors and actors will return on Saturday at 8:00am for a meet-and-greet breakfast, then rehearse until the afternoon. A final dress rehearsal with light costumes, props, and some tech will be held prior to the one-night-only public performance on Saturday! Upcoming Workshops All spring workshops are six weeks starting mid-late April. Pre-registration is required for all courses except Fitness for Actors. Early Bird registration rates run through April 9. All pricing includes the entire workshop and any materials provided. BTI has the right to cancel any workshop that does not meet minimum registration requirements. In the event of a cancellation, pre-paid registrants will be refunded.   Spring (April-May 2018)   Playwriting and Directing (Senior Youth) With the help of a professional script writer, students will work on pieces of writing they’ve already drafted to create and develop an advanced original one-act play, as well as explore the basics of directing their work.Participants in the workshop will have the opportunity to submit their scripts for the chance to be performed in the Youth One-Act Festival, July 5-7, 2018. Upon registering for this course, prior to the first class, participants will receive an activity worksheet that must be provided to the instructor on the first day of class. This activity will help writers get creative and have ideas to bring to the class. When: Tuesdays, 5:00-7:00pm | starting April 17 Instructor:  Nicole Powell Location: Theater space TBD Registration: $50 early bird | $60 regular     Voice II (Youth) Continuing from the fall, instructor Zachary Covington will help student develop the basic skills of healthy tone production. Focus skills include posture, breath control, free-tone production, vocal support, ear training and artistry. All students should be prepared to sing in groups and individually. When: Wednesdays, 5:15-6:15pm | starting April 18 Instructor: Zachary Covington Location: Little Theatre Registration: $50 early bird | $60 regular     Building an Audition Portfolio (Adult, 15+) What does it take to win your next audition? This workshop will teach you techniques used by acting professionals, including choosing the right song and monologue, preparing a resume, cold reading, voice projection, filling out paperwork, interacting with auditors, and dance audition tips. When: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 | starting April 18 Instructor: Zachary Covington Location: Little Theatre Registration: $50 early bird | $60 regular     Improv-ination (Children) This class will focus on using improv and imagination to introduce students to the wonderful world of theatre!
